Why does verification sometimes say "pending"?

Proofs are created immediately and later anchored to Bitcoin. Until that happens, the timestamp proof is valid, but verification will show as pending.

Is my document kept private?

Yes. Your document is hashed locally in your browser and never uploaded to our servers. Only the cryptographic hash is sent, making it impossible for anyone to reverse-engineer your original document.

How long does it take?

You'll receive an immediate proof-of-submission. Final Bitcoin anchoring typically completes in ~1 week (OpenTimestamps batches many submissions together). You can verify status anytime using your proof — no account required. You can close the tab; your proof is what matters.
